Fixed firefighting devices, internal hydrants and hydrant valves

Fixed water extinguishing devices are required in high-rise collective residence and public utility buildings – sprinkler or sprinkler systems. Fixed water extinguishing devices are devices that are permanently connected with the facility, containing their own supply of extinguishing agent, equipped with an extinguishing agent storage and feeding system, self-actuated in the early stage of fire development.
One should pay attention to the fact here, that for tall and high-rise buildings, unlike other types of buildings, it is not possible to lower the fire resistance class due to the fact that they are equipped with fixed fire extinguishing devices. Moreover, the use of fixed fire extinguishing devices in these buildings does not constitute the basis for increasing the area of fire zones.
In all discussed types of tall and high-rise buildings, internal hydrants should also be used 25 with a semi-rigid hose and fire hydrants 52 (without equipment), placed on the risers. Internal hydrants 25 and fire hydrants 52 should be placed on all floors of the building, on the roads of general communication - in the corridors, especially at the entrances to staircases (with a recommendation for the location of hydrant valves 52 in fire atria) and at the entrances to the building. In the case of underground storeys and those located above 25 m, there should be two fire hydrants on each riser 52. Obtained from internal hydrants 25 and hydrant valves 52 the range of the projection of the extinguishing currents should cover the entire surface of the protected building horizontally, fire zone or room.
