Waterproof concrete

Basement waterproofing can be replaced by making the basement walls of airtight concrete. It is a concrete with a low pore content, from fine aggregate (16-32 mm), with a cement content of at least 350 kg / m3 and with sealing additives.

Watertight concrete structures must have solutions to all details exposed to water penetration. This applies in particular to construction expansion joints, technological breaks and installation punctures The sealing elements are sealing tapes (for construction expansion joints), sealing pipes (for antispasmodic gaps of structures), slotted sheets (for the contact between the wall and the foundation slab), inlet collars and other accessories individually completed for each project. The waterproof concrete technology has many design requirements:

• The thickness of the foundation plate must be at least 30 cm, so that a clearly compressed zone is formed when measuring the deflection.

• The thickness of the foundation walls should be at least 25 cm, thanks to which it is possible to properly install the slotted sheet at the joint between the wall and the foundation slab.

• The thickness of the floor slabs should be at least 20 cm, thanks to which it is possible to properly install the slotted sheet at the joint between the wall and the foundation slab.

• The required amount of anti-shrinkage reinforcement is the minimum for foundation and floor slabs 3 cm2 / m cross in each direction on both sides of the board and the minimum 2 cm2 / m for walls.
