Errors in the installation of fire dampers

The most common assembly errors

The most common installation error, which in most cases result from ignorance or ignorance of the assembly and operating instructions of the manufacturers, belong:

– not keeping the border of the damper bricking, preventing the damper from maintaining the required fire resistance,

– incorrect bricking of the hatch – Uneven filling of the installation space with mortar or its absence, preventing the damper from maintaining the required fire resistance,

– bricking in the hatch in the open position, which, in the case of large flaps, may lead to the deformation of the body and the inability to close the flap,

– misaligned connection of the damper with the ventilation ducts, preventing the cut-off blade from opening,

– leaving impurities inside the flap or a detached seal, causing the shut-off partition to be blocked,

– contamination of the control mechanism with mortar or paint, causing its malfunction or damage,

– lack of required service spaces and unavailability of the hatch for service purposes, preventing servicing (a design error may also be the cause),

– incorrect connection of control cables and limit indicators.
