Ventilation of a timber building

In order to remove moisture from the building space, proper ventilation of all building elements must be ensured:
■ przestrzeni podpodłogowej – for buildings with a hollow floor
■ pomieszczeń mieszkalnych – obligatory kitchen, bathrooms, dressing room technical room, garage
■ poddasza użytkowego – roof slope
■ poddasza nieużytkowego.
Proper ventilation of individual elements of the building will guarantee the durability of the building.

Under-floor space

Ventilation of the under-floor space should be provided through ventilation openings located in the foundation walls.

Living quarters

Ventilation of living quarters should be provided in accordance with the standard requirements and technical conditions to be met by buildings and their location.

Roof slope – attic with full sheathing The roof surface must be ventilated through the ventilation gap between the thermal insulation and the roof sheathing. The air flow to the slot takes place through the ventilation holes – air inlets located in the eaves, and the exhaust air in the ridge of the roof.

Attic unused – Roof without sheathing Provide ventilation of the roof space through the supply air vents located in the eaves and the exhaust vents in the ridge of the roof.
