Laying a wooden floor on floor joists

Laying on floor joists
The professionally made bottom joist structure is covered with laminated boards of min. 22 mm thick or solid planks (grub. 26 mm). The laying process and construction of the floor surface are essentially similar to that described, floating laying on flat surfaces. It is important to lay in “falling out” lengths. The end joints may, however, only be present on floor joists. The ends of the foreheads are stuck together, while the longitudinal edges – no. Also, when laying on floor joists, a small perimeter expansion gap should be kept 15 mm.
The first row of boards is fastened with open nails near the edge. Nails (recessed) plunges with a recessed mallet, the holes are then filled with wood putty. Additionally, the first row of boards, as well as all subsequent rows are nailed diagonally, by the projection.
So that the projection does not break, the tips of the nails should be blunt with a cutter. Nails are hammered on 10-20 mm with a hammer, then taps down with a recessed mallet and delves slightly.
For pipes in front of a wall (e.g. heating pipes) first, holes are drilled in the boards at the appropriate place. The holes should be much larger in diameter than the pipes. The board is then cut with a saw with a fox. After laying the board, the cut piece fits snugly.
After removing all wedges from the expansion joint, you can start fixing the skirting boards. One should pay attention to this here, that special skirting boards are used for chipboard substrates, which make it possible to maintain a ventilation gap. Spacers between the skirting boards and the wall are also a good solution.
