WINDOW SEALING SYSTEMS i3

Tremco illbruck constantly develops new solutions, which will ensure the increasing durability of the seal and keep it as dry as possible. The inspiration for such solutions are the comments of architects and window installers. The materials we use to make our products are also changing, as are new research methods, with tools not available a few years ago, allow to create simulations of the phenomena that take place in the sealed joint. All these activities were possible thanks to the merger of Tremco and illbruck, which enabled us to access the latest technologies in the world.

Wanting to simplify the installation of windows and doors and shorten its time, several new products were introduced and some of them were replaced by newer technologies. Basic rules, guided it:
– maximum energy saving and prevention of thermal bridges
– maximum reliability and durability of the joint
– maximum simplification of assembly and shortening the time of its work with one window
– ensuring maximum thermal and sound insulation of the connection
– elimination of water vapor condensation on the internal surfaces of the connection by strengthening the insulation in the weakest places resulting from the construction of the window.

Currently, we can install windows in several ways:

It is a three-layer installation method in which the outer layer is an illmod expansion tape or alternatively an external window foil with the Sd coefficient. < 0,5 m (Sd diffusion equivalent air layer thickness fn. author). The middle layer is illbruck polyurethane foam with low resilience and acoustic insulation reaching up to 58 dB. The inner layer is alternatively the inner window foil, butyl vlies tape or butyl vlies duo tape or neutral silicone in combination with a PE cord. In this system, a vapor-permeable foil was replaced from the outside, the outer window foil and the vapor-barrier foil with the inner window foil. The recommended difference in the tightness of both materials determined by the Sd value should be at least based on experience 10 tame.

These products have slightly different technical parameters compared to the previously used. In addition, amenities related to the method of assembly have also been added, are more universal. The gluing of the tape to the windows is now done with a belt
adhesive EW. It is a double-sided self-adhesive layer placed on the edge of the tape, which, depending on the situation, can be glued on the outside or inside of the tape. Previously, we needed two different products, one is enough now. Fastening the tape to the wall can be done in three different ways:

– fixing with butyl tape with primer
– fixing with glue - Joint pastes
– fixing with under-plaster mesh

Printing on the foil facilitates orientation, which side is outside, and which one is internal. After assembly, the foil can be plastered over.
