Building fire alarm systems

On fire protection of buildings, other buildings and areas in high and high-rise public utility buildings and collective residence, it is required to use a fire alarm system and sound warning system. A fire alarm system is understood as an installation, including signaling and signaling devices – alarm devices for automatic detection and transmission of information about a fire, a voice alarm system – a system for broadcasting warning signals and voice messages for the safety of people in the building, broadcast automatically after receiving a signal from the fire alarm system, and also by the operator.

In the event of a fire in high-rise and high-rise buildings, only some fire zones are to be evacuated. Initially, evacuation should be only from the zone, where the fire was detected, and then possibly from fire zones located one storey lower and one storey higher (the decision to evacuate people from other fire zones would be taken by the commander of the rescue operation). These red flags should be suitably broadcast in these zones, from which the evacuation is carried out, and their volume should be set to that level, not to be heard in other fire zones. In those zones, in situation, in which their users might feel seriously concerned, messages should be broadcast with instructions to remain in their seats and an appeal to remain calm. Failure to comply with the above recommendations could result in an outbreak of panic and loss of control over the evacuation.
